Get StartedChest pain can range from a simple musculoskeletal problem to a cardiac or a lung problem and it is important to act quickly and assess quickly for red flags. We are thinking about lungs and heart in the thoracic cavity. Always check for the regularity and irregularity of the pulse. Check on the nature of the pain. What makes it better, what makes it worse? Are they short of breath? Are they clammy? Are they sweating, are they nauseated? If you feel it is a serious problem, then a cardiac problem needs to be ruled out and they need an ECG, a heart tracing as soon as possible and moved into A&E.
